The City of Albemarle Code Enforcement Division works in coordination with Albemarle Police Department, Fire Department, and Stanly County Building Inspectors to preserve and enhance the health, safety and welfare of the community through enforcement of applicable land use regulations and ordinances.

Our goal is to ensure that property and business owners meet their responsibilities related to the development, use, and upkeep of properties in the City of Albemarle. When necessary, the City may deploy enforcement measures ranging from warning notices to citations, and hearings.

Violations investigated by Code Enforcement 

Housing & Commercial Maintenance - ensure dwelling units and commercial properties are safe and habitable.

Nuisances - conditions that have a negative impact on our quality of life and  property value.

When to call emergency services 

  • If immediate life safety hazards exist (fire, building collapse, medical emergency, etc.) call 911.  
  • If you have a complaint or concern outside of the standard business hours, please contact the City of Albemarle Police Department
