 Customer compliments to our employees

Kevin Robinson, Jay Voyles, and Dennis Curlee

"I wanted to send a quick note about how your City staff continue to be incredibly easy to work with and collaborative. Just this morning, I met with Kevin Robinson, Jay Voyles, and Dennis Curlee in the rain and after I asked them about their availability at 5:30 am this morning." - Jordan Jones, working to redevelop the former Albemarle Hotel

Chris Palmer, Tim Poole and Greg Helms

"I want to bring to your attention that this past Saturday we had a plumbing issue downtown at our building and were completely stumped as how to fix it. I called and spoke with Tim, I ask him for direction and he told me he would have a crew there in 45 minutes. I met them there, with the use of their equipment they located the blockage, put a clean out in which helped us get the drain unclogged. The employees were Chris Palmer, Tim Poole and Greg Helms. These guys went beyond being professional with attitude and experience. This projectstarted at around 7:00 and I left at 11:00 as they were filling in the cutout. Please tell them thanks!" - Blair Lambert

AFD Engineer Al Beasley, Firefighter Jay McIntyre, and Firefighter Matt Smith

"I was the attending physician working at Stanly yesterday when EMS brought in a post-cardiac arrest 65 year old female who presented unresponsive to Albemarle Fire Station 2. I just wanted to pass along how impressed I am with the performance by the firemen involved in this patient’s resuscitation as well as the EMS providers who were on-scene/brought the patient to the hospital. With regards to the care provided at the fire department, I was reading through the EMS report and the fact that patient received such early defibrillation is one of the reasons she is still alive now. The CPR the patient received was textbook and kudos to Matt Smith and Jay McIntyre (and whoever else was at the station) for how quickly they started the resuscitation process. From the note, it looks like the fire dept team was responsible for placing an iGel in the field to give optimal oxygenation and that too gets an A+. . . . The patient is still in critical condition . . . . but I’m confident that she received the maximum pre-hospital care she could have received and I credit both the fire station and EMS team for saving her life. . . .  Thank you all so much for the work you all do outside of our Emergency Department." - Tracy Brader, MD Atrium Health Stanly – ED Vice Chair
