The Jesse F. Niven Community Center is home to the administrative office and maintenance operations for Parks and Recreation.

This former Army Reserve Base was converted to a Community Center through the federal Lands to Parks Program of the United States of the Interior and the National Parks Service.

The Niven Community Center is also home to the Stanly County Senior Center’s congregate nutrition site and Homes for Hope, a local nonprofit that provides transitional housing to assist motivated people from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
